Gustav: Texas ISD School Closings for Tuesday

Posted by Texas Education on September 1, 2008

Hurricane Gustav will impact many Texas School Districts and their personnel. Foremost, the hurricane will impact those districts that are located in the areas being evacuated, then it will impact those providing shelter, food and safety for those being evacuated. Some districts will need to deal with damage before returning to regular schedules. Administrators are being assigned all night shifts supervising sheltors and meeting the needs of the people. We were not scheduled to publish on Monday, but with the storm making landfall Monday, we are publishing Gustav related articles.

ESC 5 – has posted a Disaster Information Website for school officials to post information. Many of the school districts in the path of Gustav are ESC 5 schools and have information on their websites. However, some of these sites may not be able to operate during the storm.
