I got an email saying Humble ISD is closed through Wednesday. I’m so glad of that, we are barely hanging on, can’t imagine trying to fit school into all this so soon. Can’t imagine when school does resume and we are still without power. Oy vey!

All classes at Stephen F. Austin State University are canceled for Monday, Sept. 16, including the Early Childhood Lab and Charter School. An announcement regarding Tuesday classes will be made by noon Monday.
Although the university itself fared well in the storm, the Nacogdoches community and the surrounding areas where many of our employees and non-resident students live were impacted strongly by the storm. An assessment of the local conditions led to the decision to postpone re-opening campus.
Essential personnel and faculty and staff critical to the hurricane response should report to campus as scheduled Monday.
Although classes have been canceled, food service will continue in the cafeterias according to the regular schedule. Students, faculty, staff and members of the general public are welcome to dine in either cafeteria on a cash basis.
Faculty and staff members, along with their families, are welcome to shelter at the Norton HPE Complex. To check-in at the shelter, show an SFA employee ID at the south door to the complex closest to the Early Childhood Lab building.

Although Austin is more than 200 miles from the coast, Texas postponed its game against Arkansas until Sept. 27. McNeese State canceled its game against. Cal Poly. Prairie View A&M’s game against Sam Houston State was canceled.
Stephen F. Austin canceled its game against Kentucky Wesleyan. Oklahoma State vs. Missouri State and Texas Christian vs. Stanford were moved to earlier starts on Saturday. Baylor will play Washington State at home Friday night instead of Saturday.
Houston’s home game against Air Force will be played at Southern Methodist‘s campus in Dallas.
